Pull your shot and steam your milk at the same time

The Rancilio Silvia Pro X is a dual-boiler espresso machine built for the home barista who's done waiting between shots and steaming. Its two fully independent boilers mean no temperature surfing, no compromises — espresso and milk prep happen simultaneously.

What sets it apart

Each boiler has its own dedicated PID controller: the brew boiler (0.3 L) holds the exact temperature for espresso extraction, while the steam boiler (1.0 L) stays ready at full steam pressure. The result is café-quality lattes and cappuccinos, prepared under the same conditions as a specialty coffee shop.

The gentle pre-infusion is adjustable from 0 to 6 seconds. It wets the coffee bed before full-pressure extraction begins, reducing channeling risk and drawing out more nuanced aromas — especially noticeable with single-origin coffees.

Key specifications
  • Independent dual stainless steel boilers: 0.3 L (brew) + 1.0 L (steam) — simultaneous extraction and milk steaming.
  • Dual digital PID controllers — precise temperature control for each boiler independently.
  • Adjustable pre-infusion: 0 to 6 seconds — gradual, even saturation before full extraction.
  • Integrated pressure gauge — real-time brew boiler pressure during extraction.
  • Programmable timer — machine pre-heats automatically before you wake up.
  • 58 mm chrome-plated brass portafilter — commercial standard, compatible with precision accessories.
  • Vibratory pump rated at 15 bars, factory-set to 9 bars via internal OPV.
  • 2-litre removable water reservoir.
  • Power: ~950W / 120V.
  • Dimensions: 390H × 250W × 420D mm — allow 42 cm of counter depth.
  • Weight: 20 kg — build quality that's immediately apparent.
  • Available in black, stainless steel, and white.
Day-to-day use

Four rocker switches and a clear digital display keep daily operation straightforward — professional-grade control without a complex menu system. The programmable timer means the machine is already at temperature when you walk into the kitchen. The stainless steel cup warming tray rounds out a considered service experience.

Maintenance is straightforward: backflush with the included cleaning tablets, periodic reservoir descaling. Rancilio parts are widely available and the machine is built to be repaired — a meaningful consideration for a machine at this price point.

Who it's for / Who it isn't for

Ideal for:

  • The home espresso enthusiast who makes milk-based drinks daily (lattes, cappuccinos, flat whites) and wants to pull and steam simultaneously.
  • Those who want precise temperature control and adjustable pre-infusion to explore different coffee profiles.
  • Households where two people drink different coffee styles in the morning.

Less suited for:

  • Those who want one-touch espresso — consider our De'Longhi or Jura automatic machines.
  • Users who drink espresso only, without milk — the Rancilio Silvia M V6 offers better value in that use case.
  • Counters with less than 42 cm of available depth.
Category positioning

Among residential dual-boiler espresso machines in the $2,500–$4,500 range, the Silvia Pro X stands out for combining native dual PID, adjustable pre-infusion, and an integrated pressure gauge in a single machine — a combination that remains uncommon at this price point.

What's included / Compatible with

The Silvia Pro X ships with a 58mm double-spout portafilter, single and double baskets, a metal tamper, water softener, cleaning brush, coffee spoon, manual, blind filter, and cleaning tablets.

To get the most from the machine, our showroom team can recommend the right Compak grinder from the L'Heureux catalogue for your brewing style.
