A retro icon with a professional soul

The Ascaso Dream PID pairs an iconic retro silhouette, designed in Barcelona, with components usually reserved for larger machines. It's built for the enthusiast who wants a home espresso worthy of a neighborhood café, without sacrificing style.

What sets it apart

Its PID controller manages coffee temperature (80°C to 110°C, in 1°C increments) and steam temperature (110°C to 165°C) separately, for thermal stability within ±1.5°C. Adjustable pre-infusion and an externally adjustable over-pressure valve (OPV) let you fine-tune extraction to your grind and coffee, a level of control rarely offered in such a compact format.

Key specifications

• Insulated Ø60 mm brew group with a 58 mm portafilter: direct compatibility with standard professional baskets and accessories.
• Removable, illuminated 1.3 L water tank: enough capacity for several consecutive extractions without plumbing the machine in.
• Vibration pump set to 20 bars, with an external OPV: extraction pressure can be calibrated precisely to the coffee used.
• Volumetric control with a built-in timer: consistent doses, extraction after extraction, without timing shots by hand.
• 360° stainless steel steam wand, heat resistant: cleanup takes one wipe, even after a busy service.
• 1050 W (120 V) power: quick heat-up despite the compact footprint.

Living with it day to day

The active cup warmer keeps your cups at temperature while the machine heats up. Wooden handles add a handcrafted touch to a machine built for simplicity: fill the tank, adjust the grind, and the PID display takes care of the rest.

Who it's for / Who it's not for

• Ideal for: the person making 2 to 6 espressos a day at home who wants precise control (temperature, pre-infusion, pressure) without the complexity of a dual boiler.
• Ideal for: anyone who appreciates a design piece, offered in several bold colors, that has a real presence on the counter.
• Less suited for: households that regularly prepare several lattes back to back (see our ECM or Rancilio dual-boiler machines, which brew and steam milk at the same time).
• Less suited for: anyone looking for one-touch coffee, with no grinding or tamping involved (see our De'Longhi or KitchenAid automatic machines).

Where it fits

Among prosumer single-boiler manual machines, the Dream PID stands out for its separate coffee and steam temperature control along with its external OPV adjustment, features rarely offered at this size.
