The smart water filter

Coffee is 98% water. This water must therefore be of impeccable quality to achieve a perfect result. With CLARIS Smart, JURA is revolutionising water filtration. For the first time, an automatic coffee machine* communicates constantly with the filter using modern RFID (Radio-frequency Identification) technology. It detects the presence of a filter and automatically activates the corresponding mode. It continuously collects information on the filter usage and indicates when it is empty. As a result, replacing the filter has never been easier and CLARIS Smart can deploy its efficiency optimally.

Suitable for all tap water
CLARIS Smart works according to the professional up-flow principle and filters precisely the amount of water required for preparation. With their revolutionary new formula, the filter cartridges are ideal for all tap waters worldwide. The granules filter limescale to a consistently optimal level (even with slightly hard water) and reduce all harmful substances more effectively than ever before. Mineral salts and fluorides, which play an important role as flavour enhancers, are completely preserved. Thanks to the optimum stabilisation of limescale and the effective filtration of harmful substances, CLARIS provides maximum water quality for a coffee with the perfect aroma.

Automatic filter detection
JURA uses modern RFID technology to enable the filter and coffee machine to communicate with each other. The machine automatically detects the presence of a filter using the Intelligent Water System (IWS®). It then automatically switches to filter mode and starts rinsing. When the filter capacity reaches the end, the coffee machine indicates that the filter needs to be replaced soon. If this is not done, the machine activates descaling mode. It then prompts for descaling after the corresponding operating time. And to do this, the filter must be removed. This means that operating errors resulting from misunderstandings are a thing of the past.
