The coffee for those who want bold espresso and a latte that holds its own
7° Cielo is a medium-dark, tri-origin blend built to perform as Italian-style espresso and in milk-based drinks. Its Arabica and Robusta combination delivers high body, dense crema, and an aromatic structure that holds up even in a large North American latte.
What sets it apart
Where most residential blends rely entirely on Arabica, 7° Cielo intentionally incorporates Robusta. The addition brings crema density, body, and caffeine intensity that Arabica alone cannot produce at this roast level. The result: a generous extraction, rounded on the palate, with a lingering vanilla and spice finish.
The three origins each play a specific role: Brazilian Mogiana builds the chocolatey body, Peruvian San Ignacio adds hazelnut roundness, and Costa Rican Tarrazu balances the blend with a light brightness.
Coffee specifications
- Origins: Mogiana (Brazil), San Ignacio (Peru), Tarrazu (Costa Rica)
- Varieties: Arabica and Robusta
- Process: Fully washed
- Roast: Medium-dark
- Acidity: Medium — present but balanced by body
- Body: High — full, smooth, lingering
- Sweetness: Low to medium — noble bitterness rather than fruity sweetness
- Tasting notes: Vanilla, hazelnut, spices
Brewing methods and extraction parameters
7° Cielo is optimized for espresso and Moka pot. For espresso, the Italian-style profile expresses fully at these parameters:
- Dose: 18 g
- Yield: 36 g (1:2 ratio)
- Time: 28 seconds
In lattes, the high body and aromatic intensity of 7° Cielo let it maintain its identity even in 12 oz and 16 oz formats — a concrete advantage for those whose daily routine is primarily milk-based drinks.
Who it's for / Who it's not for
Ideal for:
- Italian-style espresso drinkers — bold, dense, with generous crema
- Those who primarily prepare lattes, cappuccinos, or mochas and want a coffee that doesn't disappear into the milk
- Moka pot users looking for a bean suited to pressure-based brewing
- Those who prefer medium-dark roasts over floral and fruity profiles
Less suited for:
- Specialty coffee enthusiasts who prefer light roasts and floral character — see Ursae Solstice available at lheureuxinc.com
- Soft filter methods (V60, Chemex) that don't showcase the body and intensity of this blend
Category positioning
In the medium-dark espresso blend category, 7° Cielo stands out for its tri-origin assembly and the deliberate inclusion of Robusta — a combination specifically targeting milk drink enthusiasts and traditional-style espresso drinkers. Roasted by Ursae, available at lheureuxinc.com.
Pair with
7° Cielo's bold profile rewards precise grind adjustment. The Compak Fino, available at lheureuxinc.com, provides the stepless control needed to extract the full potential of this blend as espresso — the Robusta's density requires careful attention to grind fineness to avoid over-extraction.
