Prana is a single-origin coffee from Tarrazu, Costa Rica, one of Central America's most renowned coffee-growing regions. Its uniqueness: an Eco-Pulp process produces an aromatic profile between the crispness of a washed coffee and the fruity richness of a natural — ripe melon, grenadine, citrus, caramel, and hazelnuts in one cup.

What sets it apart

The Eco-Pulp process is specific to Costa Rica. Unlike the fully washed process, the pulp is removed, but the mucilage — the sweet layer surrounding the bean — is retained during drying. This mucilage transfers some of the fruit's sugars to the bean without the fermentation notes of a full natural process. The result: a more pronounced natural sweetness than a washed coffee, and a cleaner fruity complexity than a natural.

Tarrazu adds another dimension: protected by the mountains of the Cordillera, the region benefits from high altitude and a pronounced temperature range that slow down the maturation of the Caturra cherries. The Caturra variety, grown at this altitude, yields a lively acidity and distinctive fruity notes — the citrus and ripe melon that characterize Prana.
