La Marzocco undertook to design the Strada EP (Electronic Paddle) due to a change in the market. As most coffee roasters began to move towards direct trade and relationship coffees, we realized that there was a need for a more stable, reliable and versatile machine that allowed them to put showcase the best of these coffees.
The Strada EP has the ability to automatically repeat pressure curves. Once the Barista has recorded a personalized pressure curve on a coffee, a simple movement of the lever will reproduce the programmed curve. With the electronic lever, the barista can focus on interacting with the customer without attempting to manipulate the pressure manually during the extraction process.
