Third Wave Water's Espresso Machine Profile sachets add the exact mineral combination needed for ideal brewing water. They protect the machine's boiler while unlocking the full flavor potential of every shot.

What sets it apart

Each sachet contains magnesium sulfate, calcium citrate, and potassium bicarbonate, with no chloride. The absence of chloride limits corrosion inside the boiler, a known cause of premature wear in espresso machines.

Key specifications

1-gallon size, box of 12 single-use sachets.
Reconstituted water targets approximately 150 mg/L total dissolved solids and 80 mg/L alkalinity, meeting Specialty Coffee Association (SCA) standards.
Chloride-free, to limit boiler corrosion.
Composition: magnesium sulfate, calcium citrate, potassium bicarbonate.

How to use

Pour one sachet into a gallon of distilled or reverse osmosis water, shake, and use normally to brew. Never add it directly to tap water, which already contains its own minerals.

Who it's for

Ideal for: anyone using an espresso machine who wants to protect the boiler from scale while optimizing the flavor of every cup.

Less suited for: those brewing only with low-volume manual methods (see the 2-liter size of the same profile, better suited to occasional use).
